The Amazon Fire TV set top box will cost $99 and its release signals Amazon’s debut into the streaming TV hardware business.This is a good move for the company, since it has been experiencing problems with its DVD business as people turn to streaming movies and other content rather than purchasing DVDs online and having them delivered by mail to their homes. This move puts the company in competition with companies such as Google and Apple that are working hard to secure huge shares of the television distribution business.
